Explanation
§ This contract will provide building demolition of the General Aviation District Office (GADO) building and abatement services for hazardous materials, such as asbestos.
§ The building is currently located adjacent to the Wilson Air Center charter terminal on Airport property.
§ The GADO building will be demolished to allow for the construction of a new general aviation charter terminal.
§ On January 29, 2018, the City issued an Invitation to Bid for the Demolition and Abatement Services Contract; four bids were received from interested service providers.
§ Jones Grading & Fencing, Inc. was selected as the lowest responsive, responsible bidder.
§ The project is anticipated to be complete by summer 2018.
§ This activity is occurring on airport property, which is in Council District 3.

The City negotiates subcontracting participation after the selection process (Part C: Section 2.1(h) of the Charlotte Business INClusion Policy).
Jones Grading and Fence, Inc. has committed 3.48% ($9,890) of the total contract amount to the following certified firm:
