? The McAlpine Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) is located in the southern part of Mecklenburg County and is the largest of five major WWTPs operated and maintained by Charlotte Water.
? The McAlpine Creek WWTP Reliability and Process Improvements (RPI) project involves rehabilitating or replacing critical components of the wastewater treatment process systems to ensure reliable discharge permit compliance. Some components have been in operation since the 1960s and are past their useful life.
? The RPI Project will be constructed in phases over a span of up to five years and has an estimate of probable construction cost of approximately $90 million.
? The Progressive Design-Build delivery method was chosen for delivery of the project due to the complexity and critical area the project will be constructed in at the WWTP.
