Explanation
* Charlotte Water maintains a water distribution system of approximately 4,314 miles of water lines and approximately 280,000 active water service connections that each provide water to multiple people.
* The Water Rehabilitation Program allows for the refurbishment of water distribution infrastructure that has reached the end of its service life, as needed. Over 46,000 feet of water mains were refurbished or replaced by contracts similar to this in FY 2017.

* Michels Pipe Services was selected as the lowest responsive, responsible bidder.
* The contract may be renewed for two renewals at unit prices based on the Engineering News Record Construction Cost Index.
