Explanation
* The Deicing Pad and South Crossfield Taxiway Project will increase airfield operational efficiency with the construction of a new cross-field taxiway connecting the center and eastern-most runway. In addition, this project includes the extension of Taxiway F and the relocation of existing aircraft deicing pads from the cargo area to the south end of the center runway.
* The overall project consists of three packages of work. This package includes the pavement and lighting for the new taxiway extensions and deicing pad construction. Specific work includes erosion control, asphalt and concrete paving, drainage installation, pavement markings, signage, conduit installation, and electrical work.
* On November 2, 2022, the city issued an Invitation to Bid; four bids were received.
* Hi-Way Paving, Inc. was selected as the lowest responsive, responsible bidder.
* Aviation intends to bring a change order for this contract to a future council meeting to include additional earthwork that has not been fully scoped at this time.
* The project is anticipated to be complete by first quarter 2026.
* This activity is occurring on airport property.
