Explanation:
The Charlotte Department of Transportation operates and maintains Charlotte’s multi-modal transportation network, which includes curb ramps and other pedestrian facilities.
This work supports the city's mobility policies to achieve a safe, connected, equitable, sustainable, prosperous, and innovative transportation network for Charlotte.
This project will provide an additional connection along established pedestrian and cyclist routes to improve pedestrian safety and mobility along W.T. Harris Boulevard.
This project includes 0.33 miles of new shared-use path, median adjustments, new curb ramps, storm drainage, and grading along W.T. Harris Boulevard from J.W. Clay Boulevard to North Tryon Street in Council District 4.
This project location is along Charlotte’s High Injury Network.
On July 6, 2026, the city issued an invitation to bid; three bids were received.
Armen Construction, LLC was selected as the lowest responsive, responsible bidder.
The project is anticipated to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2027.

The low bid from Carolina Cajun Concrete, Inc. in the amount of $752,436.50 was found to be non-responsive due to not meeting the North Carolina Department of Transportation prequalification requirement as stated within the solicitation document.
