Explanation
* The City of Charlotte seeks the annexation of a city-owned parcel immediately adjacent to Council District 2.
* Public hearings are required prior to City Council action on annexation requests.
* This property is located within Charlotte's extraterritorial jurisdiction.
* The area proposed for annexation shares boundaries with current city limits.
* The property was purchased by the city in October of 2022 as part of the West Boulevard Extension project.
* This annexation is necessary for the extension of West Boulevard and will support the planned developments in the larger area. The property will be constructed as future right-of-way for the ongoing West Boulevard extension project. * is zoned MUDD-O (mixed use development district, optional). Rezoning petition 2016-056 rezoned this parcel as part of the 1,378-acre River District petition that was approved in 2016; and
