Explanation
Aviation owns and maintains approximately 6,000 acres of land, which require routine landscaping and maintenance.
This contract will provide landscape maintenance services for Airport Zones 2 and 3, which consist of employee and long-term parking areas, the Airport Overlook, and roadways located on Airport property, including portions of Billy Graham Parkway, West Boulevard, Wallace Neel Road, and Tuckaseegee Road.
Specific work includes grounds maintenance, tree and shrub pruning, flower bed maintenance, weed control, litter and debris removal, irrigation maintenance and operation, fire ant control, fence line clearing, and detention pond maintenance.
On June 4, 2026, the city issued a Request for Proposals (RFP); 10 responses were received.
Bland Landscaping Company Inc. best meets the city’s needs in terms of qualifications, experience, cost, and responsiveness to RFP requirements.
Annual expenditures are estimated to be $1,000,000.
