Explanation
§ Management and maintenance of the city’s fleet of vehicles includes repairing and coordinating the repair of damage from collisions.
§ The Fire Department’s fleet is comprised of over 100 makes and models of equipment including engines, ladder trucks, special operations equipment, and support apparatus.
§ The city uses outside service providers to perform collision repairs on some Fire vehicles due to custom-made replacement parts, specialty tools, and equipment necessary to complete these repairs.
§ Anchor-Richey EVS is the only one-stop shop in the local area that makes specialized fire apparatus and collision repairs.
§ Waiver of a competitive solicitation process for services may be granted on a limited basis when deemed appropriate and in the city’s best interest. A waiver has been approved for these services based on the limited number of vendors with the required qualifications to provide these services.
