Explanation
§ The city is required to reimburse schools for ordinance-required infrastructure improvements to the municipal street system in accordance with NC General Statute Section 160A-307.1.
§ These reimbursements are for infrastructure tied to the construction of Ballantyne Ridge High School located at 4004 Toringdon Way in Council District 7.
§ On February 21, 2022, City Council approved these transportation improvements as part of the property’s rezoning (RZP-2021-160).
§ Reimbursable infrastructure items include:
- Public street network through the school site including a roundabout connecting North Community House, Ballantyne Ridge High School, and Johnston Road;
- All infrastructure items associated with the public street network, including streetscape and curb and gutter;
- Turn lane storage extension for southbound left turn lane at North Community House and Endhaven Lane;
- New traffic signal at North Community House Road and Toringdon Way; and
- Southbound left turn lane on Johnston Road at site access.
§ One-time agreement expenditures are estimated to be $2,774,308.
