Explanation
• On June 30, 2026, Mayor Lyles referred a Minimum Housing Code policy item to the Committee. The referral asks the Committee to determine if any applicable Minimum Housing Code ordinance changes and/or policy recommendations to include the requirement to provide air conditioning should be made to Council for consideration. The Committee will review current City cooling initiatives and discuss key considerations and information needed to fully evaluate the issue.
