Explanation

§                     On June 30, 2026, the Mayor made a referral to the committee to discuss what key guiding principles - governing Council interactions with each other, staff and the public while conducting the people’s business - could serve as a framework to strengthen decorum, efficiency and public trust.

§                     During Council’s Annual Strategy Session held in March 2026, councilmembers Mazuera-Arias, Mayo, Mitchell and Owens volunteered to serve on an ad-hoc committee to lead discussions around proposed rules of decorum and provide recommendations.
