Explanation
The city has received a petition for voluntary annexation of private property.
Public hearings are required prior to City Council action on annexation requests.
This property is located within Charlotte’s extraterritorial jurisdiction.

Annexation of this area will allow for more orderly development review, extension of city services, capital investments, and future annexation processes.
The 13.092-acre “River Point East of Dixie River Road” site is located the east side of Dixie River Road and south of West Boulevard in western Mecklenburg County.
The property is owned by Cresent River District LLC.

The petitioner has plans to develop 80,000 square feet of mixed commercial uses, 15,000 square feet of retail, and 75,000 square feet of other commercial uses across the site.
The property is located immediately adjacent to Council District 3.
