A. Accept a sponsorship in the amount of $39,000 from Lowe’s Home Improvement for Corridors of Opportunity programming, and
B. Adopt a budget ordinance appropriating $39,000 from Lowe’s Home Improvement to the Neighborhood Development Grants Fund.

Explanation
§ Lowe’s Home Improvement (Lowe’s) supports community events that align with their focus areas of Economic Development; Housing and Workforce Development; and Associate Engagement.
§ Lowe’s is proposing to sponsor five Corridors of Opportunity events that aim to build connections and improve beautification within the six Corridors of Opportunity.
- Sponsorship of 2024 National Night Out is for a one-day event and does not require a local match. The event was held on August 6, 2024. This sponsorship supports 16 neighborhood organizations that hosted National Night Out events in the Corridors of Opportunity.
- Sponsorship of Corridors Pollinator Gardens is for two, one-day events in September and November and does not require a local match. Pollinator garden installation events will take place at two locations in the Corridors of Opportunity.
- Sponsorship of Corridors beautification events is for two, one-day events in October and November and does not require a local match. One-day beautification events will take place at two different Corridors locations. The sponsorship will support material for clean-up and beautification in the two locations. Lowe’s associates will participate in clean-up events. One event will be co-hosted by the Housing and Neighborhood Services Youth Program and one event will be co-hosted by Keep Charlotte Beautiful.
§ The proposed sponsorships are in alignment with the City Council-adopted Sponsorship Policy.
