Explanation
§ The Sardis Road North Sidewalk project was identified in the Sidewalk and Pedestrian Safety Program and will improve safety, connectivity, and pedestrian mobility in Council District 6.
§ This contract includes construction of approximately 0.5 miles of sidewalk along Sardis Road North from Ritter Drive to Rittenhouse Circle.
§ Work will also include storm drainage, bus waiting pads, curb ramps, curb and gutter, and planting strips.
§ On June 13, 2024, the city issued an Invitation to Bid; seven bids were received.
§ DOT Construction, Inc. was selected as the lowest responsive, responsible bidder.
§ The project is anticipated to be complete by the second quarter of 2026.

The bid from Carolina Prime Developer, LLC in the amount of $981,342.45 did not meet the North Carolina General Statutes and was found to be non-responsive.
