A.                     Approve a contract in the amount of $2,228,152.30 to the lowest responsive bidder United of Carolinas Inc for the Collective Storm Drainage Improvement Project Y, and

 

B.                     Authorize the City Manager to amend the contract consistent with the purpose for which the contract was approved.

Explanation

§                     The contract is part of an ongoing program to provide repairs and/or improvements to storm drainage systems.

§                     The contract will address storm drainage systems at:

-                     4929 Delivau Drive (Council Districts 1 and 5)

-                     6542 Rosecran Drive (Council District 5)

-                     6624 Barrington Drive (Council Districts 1 and 5)

-                     6726 Barrington Drive (Council Districts 1 and 5)

-                     6818 Markway Drive (Council District 5)

§                     The work includes grading, storm drainage, water/sanitary sewer, sidewalk, concrete driveways, asphalt paving and curb and gutter.

§                     On June 3, 2024, the city issued an Invitation to Bid; four bids were received.

§                     United of Carolinas, Inc was selected as the lowest responsive, responsible bidder.

§                     The project is anticipated to be complete by first quarter 2026.
