On June 18, 2026, the Mayor made a referral to the committee to discuss what changes are needed
to the city ordinance to clarify restrictions related to parking on sidewalks.
The city’s ordinances regarding motor vehicles and traffic are codified in Chapter 14. Two provisions
of Chapter 14 address the prohibition of parking on sidewalks.
Although both sections prohibit parking on sidewalks, Section 14-130 introduces an exception that
does not appear in Section 14-216(a)(9). The overlapping but different language in these two
sections creates ambiguity for enforcement officers and residents.

Policy Referral: Funding for Discretionary Financial Partners

On June 18, 2026, the Mayor made a referral to the committee to consider what should be primary
in the selection of financial partners for funding.
§
Council adopted a Financial Partners Funding policy in October 2024 and revised the Policy in
September 2025.
§

After receiving 39 applications and over $6 million in funding requests, at the June 1, 2026 Council
Budget Straw Votes meeting, Council requested further review by Committee.
Staff will provide an overview for the current application and scoring process as background for
future discussion.
